An artist by nature, Carolyn Rife discovered at an early age that she could document unique and beautiful moments in time using the lens of a camera as her medium.

Yet it was not until she became a wife and a mother of three that she realized the true value of capturing on the film the essence of life itself as seen through the eyes of children and those who love them.
With this realization, Carolyn's artistic integrity, passion for photography and love of children converged, allowing her to find her specialty in creating heirloom quality children's portraiture in which each photograph becomes an individual work of art.

To ensure the images she captures will be cherished for many lifetimes, Carolyn works exclusively in black and white film and utilizes a variety of techniques to achieve the desired artistic effect.  In addition to creating black and white, sepia, and hand painted photographic images, Carolyn's truest artistic expression is witnessed in her ability to hand paint on canvas an image she has captured on film, skillfully crafting a museum-quality portrait that is reminiscent of an oil painting.
